Robert,
I've always wondered about this. I had a pacific boat (hull 25 named "Smaug") in Annapolis from 1987 to 1992. In that time, I noticed that there was some separation between the stbd bulkhead and the deck. I called and spoke to Carl Schumaker about it and he was stumped. I ended up having a custom SS plate made to replace the one in the head, tying it to the deck. And this was very early on in the boat's history. I've always suspected that this was a weak point in the design, but you are the first person to mention it.
