Paul, here are some "polars" which may or may not be accurate for a Pacific
built boat, but are almost assuredly wrong for an Ericson built boat. The
ranges seem so broad as to be useless, but I don't know how to use the data
in any event. Would be interesting to check these against Nick's figures.
I learned from my North Sails rep that our boats are so heavy that sailing deep down wind is effective in any kind of breeze. It makes weather/leeward courses a bit more tedious.
If anyone out there can make sense of the numbers and provide insight it would be appreciated.
Good sailing to all. Those of us in SF are going to be sailing the 3 Bridge Fiasco tomorrow in the rain and wind double-handed. We've got 5 Ericson-built 911s entered, which may be a record for this design.
