Hi Bob, everyone,

I have a 1990 Ericson boat. I just had my mast out at KKMI, and one thing I noticed was that the mast is really tight at the partners. It was hard getting the mast out without pinching (and chafing through or over-straining) the mast wiring. I had to cut off the VHF coax connector just to get it out, and I ended up smearing some lanacote or something on the wires where they exit the mast to help slip them back in past the deck level. It would stink to ruin your wiring just as you put the mast back in.

If the pacific adjustable mast heel relies on any fore-aft play at the partners, it might not work on our boats, with only about 1/2 inch of clearance.

Also, I noticed that even if you get a nice tight dock tune, the rig is really loose the next day as the boat "stretches". I'd double-check it before you head out...
