Greetings to Olson 911 owners:
After being disconnected from this E-mail list for a couple of years, I have resumed contact. In the past, I found much useful information and did value this on-line dialog. This is my fourth season with my Ericson-built 911, ESSENCE. I am still learning how to make the boat go- new sails, better tuning of the rig, ect.
I would welcome comment on two issues. Does anyone have experience with templates for fairing the keel? A company, Computer Keels, advertises these in Sailing World magazine. Their claim is that these are original specs for the 911. No mention is made of Ericson vs. Olson models. Another concern I have is how to rig a pole guy for the spin pole. (so far I have been racing non-spinnaker) I am looking for a smart way to do this without mounting a padeye on the fore deck. It would help to know how other 911's are set up.
