My fuel gauge sender unit has been broken since I bought the boat in 1995.
I didn't replace it (couldn't easily find a side-mounting unit) but began
recording my motoring time and estimating fuel remaining from that. This
was pretty accurate except that I was relying on the broker's spec's that
claimed a 15 gallon fuel tank. When I ran out of fuel at one point
believing I had two gallons left, I discovered, after careful measurements
and volume calculations, that the tank on my Pacific Boats model only holds
13 gallons!
