Since the day I got my boat, I've had engine starting problems. It always
starts, but I have to push the button over and over before it starts to
crank. I've replaced the button, the key, the and the starter without
making any difference whatsoever. Has anyone else had the trouble I
describe and managed to fix it? My best guess at this point is that there
may be too long of run between the batteries and the starter. The prior
owner moved the batteries to the lazarette without moving the main switch.
As a result, the cables run forward to the switch from the lazarette, then
back to the engine. By the way, if anyone needs a button or key assembly, I
can provide you with one VERY reasonably!
