I have a long history with Ken Read's loft and have spent over $35,000 in sails and repairs with them over the last 8 years for the 911S alone, not counting my J-24 purchases

I'm not sure that I'm comparing apples to apples but I just got a quote for a North "3DL 600 main with TF Film" for $2816 plus tax. The sail is Kevlar, and the TF is a very light Dacron film in place of Mylar to extend the life. The price includes a reef, a full length top batten, sail number/insignia, loose foot shelf, cunningham and draft stripes. There is a 15% additional discount for delivery after December, bringing the cost to $2393.60 plus tax.
I assume North customizes sails for the local sailing conditions and mast tune. If so, is your group discount for identical sails from the same loft or a country wide uniform price to purchase sails at our local lofts? Received on Thu Sep 19 15:16:27 2002
