For now, I'll still use the double ender but, when I find out if someone is
going back to single as in my case, I'll probably use the other side, in
which the double end is currently used, to run my tack line.
We've had mixed outcomes from the use of our assymetrical during Can races, but figure it's like everything else....the more you use it the better it is. The can be easier to use than the symmetrical when something isn't confused. Last week, our foredeck forgot they were rigging for assymetrical when it came to hooking up points. They reversed tack and clew. Fortunately we had someone else on the boat who doesn't sail with us normally, and had more experience with cruising spins, but had enough objectivity to notice how long the leading edge seemed to be and why it wouldn't hold. It was good stuff worth a few weeks of ribbing.
