If anyone is thinking about upgrading to the Navtec integral hydraulic backstay adjuster, I have a completely rebuilt unit for sale that has not been used since it was rebuilt (1999). We put a new one on Latest Trick while we were waiting for parts to have this one rebuilt. Asking $450.
Rich: Sorry to hear about your shortened season. Racing a J/35 is a
pretty good substitute, though.
I seem to recall that your tuning guide you had a length for the headstay.

Ken,
The hydraulic backstay adjuster works very well. You can get a lot more on in a blow. You might want to consider the longer throw model. I don't know how much more it is though. Eventually the hydraulic unit will need to be rebuilt. I had mine done a few years ago and it was probably the first time since the boat was built in 1986.
