Ken,

The hydraulic backstay adjuster works very well. You can get a lot more on in a blow. You might want to consider the longer throw model. I don't know how much more it is though. Eventually the hydraulic unit will need to be rebuilt. I had mine done a few years ago and it was probably the first time since the boat was built in 1986.
