When we bought our used Pacific Boats-built Olson 911S in 1995, the broker's
spec sheet claimed a 15 US gallon fuel tank.
My fuel gauge has never worked, so I record motoring times and use a simple
algorithm to convert motoring time to fuel used to keep track of fuel
remaining (4 hours/gallon in racing trim, and 3 hours/gallon in cruising
mode).
On a recent delivery, I ran out of fuel when I should have had sufficient
fuel remaining. Upon measuring the fuel tank and visiting
http://www.onlineconversion.com/ to do the calculation, it turns out that
the tank is not 15 US gallons, but only 13 US gallons.
Just passing this tidbit along in case it may apply to any of you.
Cheers,
Klaus Schaefer
