I think that the similarity of names confuses you! Pacific Boats was a company in Santa Cruz CA that built fast racing oriented boats. Ericson was NOT purchased by them at all...Pacific Boats, as pointed out in another email, went bankrupt and Ericson acquired the hull molds from there. Ericson was purchased by (I think) Pacific Seacraft, a company specializing in cruising oriented boats, but Pacific Seacraft stopped building Ericson boats (and Olsons) in a year or two after the purchase.
