Steve Haislet asked about alternators recently. I replaced my original alternator with a Hamilton Ferris alternator that puts out around 150 amps instead of I believe 65 amps because my batteries weren't charging up enough. I think the whole set up was less than $700 plus installation. This cured my having to put a charger on the batteries every so often. There are probably other high output marine alternators out there but this one is a bolt on replacement for a Yanmar engine.
