Traveling with an O30

Do any of you have comments or experiences you can share related to trailering an O30 through the states of California and Oregon. I am interested in wideload or height comments (has anyone run into the law on this one?), hotel/motels with big parking lots and easy access (between Redding and Sacramento), as well as preferred routes through Sacramento and LA.

For the record, I am moving the boat from the middle of nowhere (Eastern Oregon), to San Pedro (south side of LA). I am hoping to pull the boat and a crew together for Turkey Day at ABYC. Are any of you Northerners interested in sailing in the sunshine in November (20/21 - the weekend before Thanksgiving)?
