Actually, if you're talking about the strut athwartships between the chain plate fastenings, I believe it first appeared years ago on a boat then called Patient Lady. The next time I saw one, was also quite some time ago, and was done by Al Holt, who can probably tell us when he did it. (He llurks here even though he deserted us for a Soveral 33.) Don't know when John Leitzinger did it, but Patient Lady's was, if I'm not mistaken, some time back in the early to mid '80's.
