Those aluminum stanchions break pretty easily. We broke one in the Double Handed Farallones. Rounded up and had about 450lbs of skipper and crew hanging from the lifeline. If you are sailing in conditions where going overboard is more than an inconvenience, I'd advise replacing them with stainless.
If you really want aluminum, I've got two in marginal condition I can send you for $15 plus postage.  

Ballenger can get stainless, I bought him out a couple weeks ago. 831-763-1196.
I think someone got a better price from Ron Moore but I don't have his number.
