The time has arrived that all of you have been waiting for!
The 1999 Olson 30 World Championship Christmas Party sponsored by the
Pacific Northwest Olson 30 Fleet. January 23rd 1999.
You heard the hype of the so called parties our neighbors in California are putting on, well we've saved the best for last. Everyones invited!!! Owners, crews, all Olson 30ites ( sounds more like a toilet lid than a stalagtite Andy).
Beer, wine , water served courtesy of PNW fleet. Please bring appetizers or entrees and even Mcdonalds Cheeseburgers will be loved by all. Popcorn, peanuts, Hot dogs, slurpees anything you can think of.
We don't need a mystery celebrity guest, when we have our own Marc Hulburt discussing the intricacies of mast splicing, and running backstays. John Leitzinger enlightening us on "why two Olsons are better than one". And finally, John Rahn's sermonette on "Composing Classical Orchestra vs. Composing the alternative keel."
Bring your favorite sailing videos for the big screen, and your favorite stories of the 1998 racing season.
Also to be awarded, the coveted pink toilet seat trophy representing the 1998 fleet champion.
Valuable prizes will be awarded so don't miss this party. Halyards, sheets, bent spinnaker poles and spreaders, used torn spinnakers and other incredible prizes.
And finally in all seriousness, lets all extend a warm invitation to Pat and Tina Kershaw, and try to talk them into staying in our fleet. And at the least give them a nice "gonna miss you party" and thank them for all their hard work for our fleet. Without their help, the PNW fleet would not be where it is today.
We'll start things off at 6:00 PM Saturday January 23rd
